The Semantic Media Project - Powering FunMail's Media Brain

The Semantic Media Project is an open initiative to enhance everyday communication through graphics, and eventually sound and animation.

At the core of the project is the FunMail Media Brain, a new technology that "learns" how to find the best piece of relevant content for a specific text message. Content is ingested in real-time from Creative Commons and other sources, or can be contributed and tuned directly via this website. Soon, anybody will be able to flow in content from their social network and mobile phone, building a rich, user-created visual lexicon.

Our vision for the Semantic Media Project is to enable and enliven human communication of any kind: texts, tweets, status updates, RSS Feeds, chat, comments – any and all, by seamlessly enhancing text.
